Permit Applications

You may request use of property that Miami Conservancy District owns or controls when the use is compatible with policy, rules, and regulations. Use cannot impact Miami Conservancy District operations. For questions about permits, flood storage basins, and land uses please contact Roxanne Farrier, Property Administrator.

  • Read the descriptions and fact sheets below to find the appropriate permit for your land use. 
  • A fee may be required. 
  • Prior approval is required. 
  • Applications are submitted online using the links below. 

 

 

This permit is required for the use of Miami Conservancy District land for a defined period of time and for a specific purpose(s).
 

This permit is suitable for short term, or temporary, activities including:
  • Construction - allows contractors to access and perform work on Miami Conservancy District land when a land use permit has been issued to the project owner.
  • Agriculture - allows use of MCD land for a defined period of time for the purpose of specified agricultural uses.
  • Channel Excavation - allows access to and use of Miami Conservancy District land for a defined period of time to excavate gravel in the river for channel maintenance for the flood protection system.
  • Events - allows short-term or one-time use of Miami Conservancy District land for events such as festivals, runs and special events,
  • Other Temporary Activities - such as water sampling and geotechnical exploration, transportation, and utility. 

 
 
This permit is required for activities that affect Miami Conservancy District rights in the flood storage basins.
  • Maps - View the Flood Storage Basins on GeoPort, a new GIS Portal. Property boundaries can be viewed in relation to the Flood Storage Basin boundaries. 
  • Fill or earth moving work that reduces a basin’s storage capacity by an amount greater than the De-minimis Fill Volume of 100 cubic yards.
  • Any activity that violates a land use restriction held by the Miami Conservancy District.
  • A cut/fill form or calculation sheet may also be required.

General Permit

  • Construction of, or improvements to, a non-habitable structure.
  • Parking Recreational Vehicles.

Storage Basin Rules Fact Sheet - provides guidance on restricted land uses in the Storage Basins

Pipe Inspection Manual -  provides guidance on how and when to inspect pipes that penetrate or run adjacent to flood protection infrastructure.

Access and Maintenance - provides guidance to assure that the proposed land use is compatible with Miami Conservancy District's access and maintenance needs.

Construction Project Bidding

Sign up or Login for a free membership to visit our Plan Room to access Plans, Specs, Proposal Forms, and Addenda. You do not have to become a member to see the project information and contract award.

Members may select construction projects for project information; downloading and printing plans, contract documents/specifications, proposal forms, legal ad, and addenda in the Plan Room for bidding. Members will receive addenda notifications; can view and print plan holders list; download and print bid tabulation; and view contract award information.
