You may request use of property that Miami Conservancy District owns or controls when the use is compatible with policy, rules, and regulations. Use cannot impact Miami Conservancy District operations. For questions about permits, flood storage basins, and land uses please contact Roxanne Farrier, Property Administrator.

Permit Types

Permit Types	Subtypes
Land Use General use of MCD property for a defined period of time up to twenty years.	General (10) – Including but not limited to, fencing and/or structure encroachments, signs, bridges, roads, shelters, access. Pipeline (11) - Water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, sludge line, gas line. Utility cable (12) - Electrical, communication or television cables. Well/Groundwater (13) - Water treatment facility, observation or monitoring well, production well, soil borings or investigation, well field. Recreation (16) – Bikeway, walkway, low dam, park or recreation facility, boat or canoe. Farm (17) – Planting crops, harvesting hay, or use of livestock. Channel Excavation (18) - Excavating gravel for channel maintenance at the request of MCD.
Temporary Land Use Short term use or activities, typically fourteen days or less except for construction permits.	General Usage (50) – General use, such as water sampling and geotechnical exploration, transportation, etc. Pipeline (51) - Temporary use of a sewer or pipeline. Utility Cable (52) - Temporary use of a utility line, pole, or cable. Recreational (56) - Events such as festivals, walk/runs and other recreational uses. Construction (60) - Permit issued to contractors awarded bids on an owner's project. Term length is project dependent.
Storage Basin Structures greater than 100 square feet, RV use or bringing fill material greater than100 cubic yards into one of the five MCD Storage Basins upstream of the dam. General Use Fill or earth moving work that reduces a basin’s storage capacity by an amount less than or equal to the De-minimis Fill Volume of 100 cubic yards. Construction of, or improvements to, a non-habitable structure. Parking Recreational Vehicles. Individual Use Fill or earth moving work that reduces a basin’s storage capacity by an amount greater than the De-minimis Fill Volume of 100 cubic yards. Any activity that violates a land use restriction held by the Miami Conservancy District. Construction of, or improvements to, a habitable structure (for human occupancy)

Construction Project Bidding

Members may select construction projects for project information; downloading and printing plans, contract documents/specifications, proposal forms, legal ad, and addenda in the Plan Room for bidding. Members will receive addenda notifications; can view and print plan holders list; download and print bid tabulation; and view contract award information.
