Partnerships

The land managed for flood protection provides unparalleled public access to the corridors along the Great Miami River and its tributaries. More than 20 public jurisdictions in five counties hold permits to operate parks and trails on Miami Conservancy District lands. 

Here is a list of some of the partners that work with us to provide public access and recreation opportunities: 

Five Rivers MetroParks
Founded in 1963 to preserve green space for future generations, MetroParks is an independent political subdivision under Ohio Revised Code 1545 and is funded by a property tax levy in Montgomery County. Five Rivers MetroParks is our largest partner, providing recreation opportunities on hundreds of acres of Miami Conservancy District flood protection land in the Dayton region.

Miami County Park District
Since 1967, the Park District has acquired and protected lands with outstanding natural features, for the current and future enjoyment of the citizens of Miami County.  

Metroparks of Butler County
MetroParks of Butler County offers outdoor space and recreation at 14 parks and approximately 5,000 acres across Butler County. 

 

Miami Valley Trails

A consortium of trail managing agencies, trail funding agencies, and convention and visitors bureaus including the mami Conservancy district that works together to provide Information on the 350+ mile network of paved, off-street trails in the Miami Valley. Bike Miami Valley
SW Ohio's bicycling advocacy organization, promoting cycling opportunities, educating people about safer cycling, and advocating for bicycle friendly communities.

Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission

The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) has served the planning needs of the Miami Valley in Southwest Ohio since 1964.
